What to Order After the Premium Starter Kit

I never thought I would be a DIY person. I don’t consider myself crafty. I won’t even consider making a recipe if it has too many ingredients or steps. I’m not great at following directions. Despite all of this, somehow I turned into a mad scientist within a few days of ordering my Premium Starter Kit. I made roller bottles, room sprays, and experimented with diffuser combinations. Thanks to Amazon Prime, new carrier oils and concoction components were showing up on my stoop daily. Within a week I was searching for new blends and recipes to try. There were so many oils I hadn’t heard of yet, but I didn’t know which to order first. I turned to trusty Google and searched, hoping that there was an oil everyone agreed should be my next purchase. Unfortunately, every list I found was different and I felt even more confused. All of the Young Living products are great; there is no right or wrong option. Below you will find a list of the products I use most frequently. These items will help you with the next step of your oily journey.

Thieves Household Cleaner  
Price: $22.00 for 14.4 fluid ounces
There are so many toxic chemicals in your cleaners. Chemicals aside, I used to have over 20 bottles under my sink. Now I have white vinegar, baking soda, and Thieves Household Cleaner. That’s it. To make all purpose cleaner combine 1 capful of Thieves cleaner with 2-3 cups distilled water. To wash windows or mirrors, add 1 tsp of white vinegar for a streak-free shine. My favorite part is that it is concentrated so you can make each 3 cup spray bottle for under $0.50, including the cost of the distilled water and vinegar.

 

Cedarwood
Price: $11.25 for 15ml
My favorite uses:

  • Add 1 drop per ounce to shampoo and/or conditioner for thicker, softer hair. 
  • Promote relaxation and restful sleep by adding Cedarwood to your bedtime diffuser or roller bottle blend.

 

Citrus Fresh
Price: $7.25 for 5ml Vitality, $15.25 for 15ml
Description: Citrus Fresh is a blend of Orange, Grapefruit, Mandarin, Tangerine, and Lemon with a splash of Spearmint.
My favorite uses:

  • Place 2 drops of Citrus Fresh inside the toilet paper roll for a natural air freshener.
  • Add 2-3 drops to a cotton ball and place in the bottom of any trash can when you replace the bag.
  • Citrus Fresh pairs well with any other citrus oil or Purification. Diffuse it to bring a bright, clean scent to any room. Add 5 drops to a spray bottle of Thieves cleaner for a fresher scent.

 

Peace & Calming
Price: $34.75 for 5ml
Description: Peace & Calming is a blend of Ylang Ylang, Orange, Tangerine, Patchouli, and Blue Tansy.
My favorite uses:

  • Diffuse alone at bedtime or add 1-2 drops to your favorite bedtime blend to encourage restful sleep and to help you quiet your mind.
  • Add to an epsom salt bath to help your mind and muscles relax.

 

Valor
Price: $39.75 for 5ml
Description: Valor is a blend of Black Spruce, Blue Tansy, Frankincense, and Geranium.
My favorite uses:

  • Diffuse or apply topically to encourage a positive attitude or unwind.
  • Valor can aid in focus when diffused or applied topically. It is great for days where you have 100 things to get done but need to focus on one thing at a time.

 

Lime Vitality
Price: $5.75 for 5ml
My favorite uses:

  • Lime oil is a great standby for lime juice, zest, or whenever you don’t have fresh citrus available.
  • Less acidic than fresh lime juice, it won’t damage your tooth enamel.
  • Add 3 drops to guacamole. Add 1-2 drops to a 16oz glass of water. 
  • Substitute 2 drops Lime Vitality in your favorite cocktail. 
  • Add 1-2 drops to salad dressing or a marinade for a bright flavor.

 

Lemongrass
Price: $11.25 for 15ml
My favorite uses:

  • Mix with Panaway and Copaiba to ease muscle soreness and tightness.
  • Apply topically to ease symptoms associated with inflammation.

 

Tea Tree
Price: $26.00 for 15ml
My favorite uses: 

  • Tea Tree is most known for maintaining healthy and clear skin. 
  • Add a few drops to your shampoo to support a healthy scalp. 
  • If you forget to transfer your laundry from the washer to the dryer, add 2 drops of Tea Tree and run the rinse cycle. 

 

Cool Azul Pain Relief Cream
Price: $42.75 for 3.4 ounces
Cool Azul offers pain relieving benefits along with a cooling effect for muscles and joints through the use of Wintergreen and the natural menthol found in Peppermint. Simply rub on the affected area.
