Christmas Gift Ideas for Him
/Hey, guys! Pete here. I'm sure you've read about me on the blog, but now it's time to hear from me. Rachel posted Christmas Gift Ideas for Her yesterday and today I'm showing off my list of Christmas gift ideas for him! Below is a list of fifteen items that I've found from all corners of the internet. Whether you're shopping for your dad, brother, uncle, significant other - there's something on this list that'll make a great gift for a great guy in your life!
Bespoke Post Weekender Bag - Modeled after stonemasons’ tool bags, Bespoke Post’s Weekender Bag is built to take a beating. The heavy duty canvas and leather construction are equal parts rugged and handsome. Whether you’re heading across town or across the state, the Weekender will hold all of your essentials in style.
Yeti Rambler 20 oz. Tumbler - I’ve used dozens of travel mugs over the past couple of decades and Yeti’s Rambler is the only one I have yet to destroy. I carry it year round to and from work - iced coffee in the warmer months, hot coffee in the cooler months. The Rambler fits comfortably in my cupholder and keeps my beverage at my preferred temperature all day long.
Machine Era Co. Wallet - Let’s face it - the George Costanza wallet is so 1990s. Over the past two decades, manufacturing technology and crowdfunding has helped outdated, bulky wallets move into the 21st century. Machine Era’s slim wallet utilizes aerospace grade titanium that is sturdy, lightweight, and RFID blocking. It’s barely larger than a credit card and will cradle eight cards comfortably. I’ve been carrying one for a year and a half and it practically disappears in my front pocket.
Matador Pocket Blanket - Matador’s Pocket Blanket is an awesome addition to any backpack or travel bag. Whether you’re picnicking, hanging out at a music festival, or enjoying a weekend camping trip; the Pocket Blanket will help keep you and your stuff off the ground. The best part is that it’s no bigger than a bifold wallet and is simple to carry anywhere.
Zippo Hand Warmer - Winter is coming, and with frigid weather comes cold hands. Zippo’s flameless hand warmer is a safe, environmentally friendly alternative to disposable hand warmers. It utilizes Zippo lighter fluid to create consistent warmth for over ten hours. I can’t always work with gloves on, and I carry one in my coat pocket on chilly days to keep my hands toasty.
KOMOlab Concrete Valet Tray - It’s time to stop running around the house every morning trying to figure out where you put your wallet. Or your keys. Or your phone. Or your lip balm. KOMOlab’s valet tray gives you the perfect place to set your essentials. It’s made from concrete, which is a bit unusual - but it’s rugged, stylish, and will look beautiful no matter where you place it.
Harry’s Razors - Even though I’ve been sporting a beard for five years, I still find it important to keep it tidy and clean up my face around it. When I stumbled across Harry’s razors, I immediately stopped using the cheaply-made disposable razor’s I’d been using. Harry’s products are all extremely high quality, super sharp; and will leave you with a clean, comfortable shave - without breaking the bank. At less than $2.00, they’re cheaper than my old disposables, and significantly higher quality.
FutureRelic CNC Machined Bottle Opener - Guys, you need to stop carrying that cheap plastic bottle opener. You know, the one you got at that concert six years ago. It used to be white and have a Corona logo on it - but now it’s all marred and scratched and it looks like you dug it out of the trash after your dog ate it. Yeah, not classy. FutureRelic is here to fix your problem. Their CNC machined bottle openers are manufactured in the same manner as some of the highest quality tools available. The 303 Stainless Steel construction will never rust, corrode, or wear down. Its small size will practically disappear on your keyring, but it’ll be there every time you need it.
PDT Cocktail Book - Having the ability to mix a few cocktails at your next party is a valuable skill. Please Don’t Tell has collected their finest cocktail recipes and put them all in one place. Whether you’re mixing a Manhattan, an Old Fashioned, or your Dad’s favorite Gin & Tonic - PDT has you covered. The dozens of recipes contained in the book will help you utilize your entire liquor cabinet to its full potential.
Carry On Cocktail Kit - Old Fashioned - Travel restrictions have made it impossible to fly with your liquor cabinet in tow. Carry On Cocktail’s Old Fashioned kit will help take some of the edge off of your next flight. Whether you’re traveling with a partner or are trying to make friends with the person in the row next to you, the kit includes all you need to mix your favorite beverage except the liquor.
Leatherman Skeletool CX - It’s hard to find a capable, lightweight multitool that can do it all without unnecessary bulk. Leatherman has designed the Skeletool CX to do everything you need without weighing you down. Featuring a full-size blade, needle nose pliers, wire cutters, multiple screwdrivers, and a bottle opener, it has everything you need for small repairs around the house or in the backcountry.
Nitecore TIP CRI Flashlight - Camera phones have become ubiquitous, which means we all now have access to a flashlight in our pockets. However, getting to the flashlight is cumbersome and the light never seems to be bright enough. Nitecore’s TIP CRI Flashlight provides 240 lumens of warm light in an instant. It’s rechargeable via micro USB cable, which means you’ll never need to dig around for batteries.
Craighill Wilson Keyring - Split ring keychains have always been cumbersome to use. Craighill’s Wilson keyring solves the problem of broken nails, stretched out rings, and endless frustration. Not only is it simple to use, but it’s great to look at. Whether you carry one key or ten, the Wilson keyring is perfect!
Fisher Space Pen - I’ve always been an advocate for carrying a pen everywhere you go. Fisher’s Bullet pen is perfectly sized to fit in any pocket, and it doesn’t have any sharp edges that’ll stab you when you’re digging around for it. Featuring Fisher’s patented pressurized refill, it’ll write on nearly anything, anywhere - even upside down. It’s the perfect addition to any everyday carry.
Field Notes - It’s so easy to open our phones nowadays and type a note to ourselves. However, something about putting pen to paper helps keep things fresh in my mind - and whipping your phone out in certain settings is inappropriate. Field Notes’ line of notebooks is perfect for deep thoughts, phone numbers, doctoral thesis outlines, quick games of tic tac toe, song lyrics, or anything that needs to be remembered. As they say, “I’m not writing it down to remember it later, I’m writing it down to remember it now.”
